Know Your State’s Nature Symbols

How many of us know our state’s official bird? Flower? Tree? These are fun and interesting facts to look up and it may surprise you to learn your state also has an official grass, soil, insect, or fish. Wouldn’t it be fun to look these up and share them with your classroom students or your family? While we are at it, let's not just learn that the robin, for example, is the state bird of Wisconsin and Michigan but also read about their habitats and habits. You can learn more from my book, Oliver's Birthday and the Robin's Nest, which also includes a special section, "Facts About American Robins."
